Data Analyst Responsibilities:
Analyze large sets of ad performance data
Key Responsibilities:
- Ad Performance Data Analysis:
- Analyze large datasets from the SayPro Monthly January SCMR-8 Campaign to measure and assess ad performance across various digital marketing platforms.
- Examine KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as impressions, click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, cost per acquisition (CPA), return on ad spend (ROAS), and others to evaluate the effectiveness of ad campaigns.
- Perform in-depth trend analysis to identify performance fluctuations over time and correlate these with campaign elements, market conditions, and audience behavior.
- Data Interpretation and Reporting:
- Generate and maintain regular performance reports that provide clear, actionable insights to the marketing, sales, and product teams.
- Develop and present performance summaries, highlighting key insights and recommendations to improve future campaigns.
- Provide clear visualization of complex data, translating it into understandable formats for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Campaign Optimization:
- Identify underperforming ad creatives, segments, or platforms and recommend specific optimizations.
- Support ongoing campaign management by working closely with the marketing team to suggest adjustments to targeting, ad creatives, bidding strategies, and other campaign settings.
- Test and evaluate new strategies for campaign improvement, including A/B testing of ad creatives, targeting options, and landing pages.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Work closely with the marketing and creative teams to understand campaign objectives and ensure the analysis is aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with other analysts and team members to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and alignment across reports and platforms.
- Assist in the development of data-driven strategies to support marketing and business development objectives.
- Tool and Platform Management:
- Utilize industry-standard analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and other ad performance tracking platforms to collect, analyze, and report on campaign data.
- Manage and maintain the setup and configuration of analytics platforms to ensure accurate tracking and reporting across all campaigns.
- Explore new tools and technologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of data analysis processes.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis:
- Respond to urgent or time-sensitive requests from management and stakeholders regarding ad campaign performance.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis when needed for testing new strategies, troubleshooting issues, or addressing specific questions related to ad performance.
Key Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Marketing, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or training in data analytics tools, platforms, or advertising (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Blueprint) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within the advertising, marketing, or digital media space.
- Experience with ad performance analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Excel, Tableau, etc.).
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and data-driven decision-making processes in digital marketing campaigns.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
- Expertise in data visualization, with the ability to present findings in a clear and actionable format.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R is highly desirable for more advanced data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
Performance Metrics:
As a Data Analyst on the Ad Performance Analysis Team, your performance will be measured based on:
- Timeliness and accuracy of campaign performance reports.
- Quality of insights and recommendations provided to the marketing team.
